Cookie Policy
Last updated November 6, 2026
Published at dinnershelf.com/cookies. Applies to the website only; the app is covered by the Privacy Policy.
dinnershelf.com sets no cookies. Instead, it keeps a few small items in your browser's storage (localStorage and sessionStorage). Apart from your choice on the storage notice, they are kept only if you choose OK. We do not use advertising, third-party analytics or cross-site tracking.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ds_consent | localStorage, strictly necessary | Remembers your choice on the storage notice | Always kept once you choose, until you clear your browser storage |
| ds_vid | localStorage, only after OK | A random visitor ID, to count returning visits | Until you choose No thanks or clear your browser storage |
| ds_sid | sessionStorage, only after OK | A random visit ID | Until you close the tab |
| ds_offer | localStorage, only after OK | Whether the first-month offer was shown or used, so it doesn't show again | Until you choose No thanks or clear your browser storage |
| ds_offer_email | sessionStorage, only after OK | The email you typed into the offer | Until you close the tab |
What we record about visits
Our own server records visits to dinnershelf.com:
- page views, which sections were seen, store-button clicks, FAQ opens, offer views and checkout starts;
- with each, the device type (phone, tablet or desktop, worked out from your browser's user agent, which we do not store), the referrer and UTM tags, and the country if our CDN supplies it.
We do not store IP addresses. Raw events are deleted after 13 months; we keep only daily totals.
Your choices
When you first visit, a storage notice asks for your choice.
- Before you choose, nothing is stored in your browser. Your visit is still counted, with the IDs kept only in memory.
- OK keeps the IDs in your browser.
- No thanks deletes them and stops visit counting.
- Cookie settings in the site footer reopens the notice, so you can change your choice at any time.
You can also clear this storage in your browser settings.
Third parties
Google Fonts. dinnershelf.com loads its fonts from Google, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads. Google's own privacy policy applies to that request.
App Store and Google Play buttons. Clicks go through a short link on our own domain (for example dinnershelf.com/go/ios) so we can count them, then forward you to the store. This works without cookies or browser storage and records only the store, the button's place on the page, the device type, the referrer and the country if our CDN supplies it. After the redirect, Apple's and Google's own policies apply.
